After falling short of the program’s first-ever league championship last week, Pajaro Valley received some good news on Wednesday night.

The Grizzlies (15-9), runners-up in the Pacific Coast Athletic League Cypress division, will host their first-ever home playoff game on Friday night.

Coach Andre Bailey and Co. received the No. 10 seed in the Central Coast Section Division III playoffs, and will welcome in unseeded Greenfield (15-9) for a first round matchup at 7 p.m.

Pajaro Valley was one of four local teams that made the CCS cut.

North Monterey County, Aptos and St. Francis also extend their seasons by at least another game.

N.M.C. (17-7) and Aptos (16-10) were placed in D-III, while St. Francis (16-6) made D-V.

The Condors, undefeated PCAL-Cypress champions, were seeded No. 9, and are off until Saturday’s second round. They will travel to Daly City to play No. 8 Westmoor at 7 p.m.

Aptos, too, was given a bye. Fresh off their upset of Santa Cruz in the Santa Cruz Coast Athletic League tournament championship game, the Mariners received the No. 2 seed in D-III, and will be off until Tuesday’s quarterfinal round.

St. Francis also won’t play until Tuesday. The Sharks were given the No. 2 seed in D-V after tying for third in the PCAL-Mission division.
