Mary Ann Clark, 76, passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by family, on May 20, 2017. Mary Ann was born on January 3, 1941 to George and Sadie Borba, the oldest of four children. Born and raised in Aromas, she attended Aromas School, Watsonville High School, and Hartnell College. After college, she worked in the Hartnell Administrative Office. Mary Ann then married her soulmate and best friend, Jim Clark. Together they had two children, Greg and Laurie. She later became a secretary at Aromas School.
Mary Ann enjoyed spending time with friends, cooking, gardening, her faith, and above all, she loved and enjoyed spending time with her family. Her kids and grandsons were the forefront of Mary Ann’s life.
Mary Ann is preceded in death by her son, Greg (2010). She leaves behind a loving family, her husband of 54 years, Jim; daughter, Laurie (Steven) Dobler; grandsons, Jacob and Brian Dobler; sisters, Georgina (Jerry) Summers, Sylvia (John) Kusanovich; brother, Ron (Cindy) Borba, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to extend their deepest appreciation and gratitude to all of Mary Ann’s doctors and nurses. This includes her Stanford team, lead by Dr. Diana English, and her Dignity Health team, lead by Julie Jaffe.
A Catholic mass will be held Thursday, May 25th at 10:00a.m. at Our Lady Help of Christians Church. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Mehl’s Colonial Chapel. The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Moreland Notre Dame School (133 Brennan St., Watsonville, CA 95076), St. Francis High School (2400 East Lake Ave., Watsonville, CA 95076), or Hospice of Santa Cruz County (940 Disc Dr., Scotts Valley, CA 95066).
