Luke Brothers, Monte Vista Christian: Mustangs’ senior went four innings with eight strikeouts and earned the win against San Lorenzo Valley in non-league play on Feb. 25. Brothers also recorded a double in a win against Santa Cruz to help MVC go 2-0 to begin the season.
Gabby Giuffre, Aptos: Mariners’ senior recorded 19 points and grabbed nine rebounds in a win over Santa Cruz in the quarterfinals of the CCS D-III playoffs on Feb. 25. She also had nine points and 10 rebounds in a win against Live Oak in the semifinals.
