Watsonville artist Josefina Rocha (right) works on a new piece of art Saturday inside the Porter Building during the Arts Council Santa Cruz County’s 37th annual Open Studios Art Tour. This year features 322 artists that open their studios across Santa Cruz County to meet with the public. Rocha is sharing the room, which is part of Pajaro Valley Arts, in a “pop-up” space with artist Hermelinda Vasquez-Matias, who is showing her hand-painted wood figures, known as Alebrijes. The art tour also runs Oct. 14-15 for North County artists, from the Santa Cruz Yacht Harbor and north, and Oct. 21-22 for all county artists.
