A man who has worked for Pajaro valley Unified School District for more than a decade was arrested Sept. 3 on sexual assault charges.
Ivan Alcaraz, 37, was charged with oral copulation of an unconscious person. He was out of custody after posting $50,000 bail, jail records showed.
Alvarez has worked for PVUSD since 2013, when he was an intervention counselor. He became assistant principal at Watsonville High School, and then Principal at Rolling Hills Middle School. He moved to the district’s main office as Director of Student Services in 2022, and became Executive Director of Student Support Services in July.
In an email to district staff, PVUSD Superintendent Heather Contreras said that Alcaraz has been placed on administrative leave.
“Based upon what is currently known, the arrest is unrelated to the individual’s employment with PVUSD and does not involve any PVUSD students,” Contreras stated.
She declined to comment further, citing employee confidentiality rules.
Watsonville Police spokeswoman Michelle Pulido said that the case began when detectives responded to reports of a sexual assault that occurred in Watsonville.
The case is still under investigation, Pulido said.

Is Rolling Hills the nexus?
Dave
You can’t make this stuff up. These are the pedophiles in charge of the children in school. How disgusting but of course like all of the above mentioned there will be no prison time for them.
They prey on children then the try to defend their actions.
Best to home school and let the district loose money
Shameful and disgusting
