Issac Sigala, 18, is facing several felony charges including illegally possessing a firearm, participation in a criminal street gang and probation violation.

The incident began when a WPD officer attempted to contact a group of gang members, including Sigala, in the area of Waters Alley and Madison Street shortly after 5pm.

Sigala ran from the officer, jumped a fence, then climbed onto a rooftop, and jumped over several fences as he tried to get away.

“Little did Sigala know that Chief David Rodriguez was in the area and had been listening to the police radio traffic,” WPD stated in a Facebook post.

Rodriguez saw Sigala, ran after him, and handcuffed him behind the carwash on the 400 block of East Lake Avenue.

Inside Sigala’s backpack, police found an unserialized short-barreled AR-pistol with a high-capacity magazine, 38 rounds of ammunition, and 54 grams of marijuana.
