Two 17-year-olds have been arrested in connection with an attempted murder following an operation Tuesday.

Detectives, with the help of local law enforcement partners, served several search warrants in connection with a late-night shooting on Jan. 19 on the 1500 block of Freedom Boulevard, where a 17-year-old was shot.

The searches took place on the 100 block of Ginos Court and the 100 block of Arthur Road. Freedom Elementary School was briefly placed on lockdown as a precaution. Additional warrants were served in Prunedale and Marina.

During the operation, one gun was recovered and two 17-year-olds were taken into custody. One is facing charges of attempted homicide after shooting into a car Jan. 19. The second suspect was arrested on firearm-related charges. Both were booked into juvenile hall.
