Watsonville Police arrested a man on Jan. 28 for making a bomb threat to a local hospital.
WPD spokeswoman Erika Vazquez said WPD arrested 32-year-old Cody Burns on the 400 block of Hill Avenue after he reportedly “made a bomb threat targeting a local hospital.”
Officers were able to quickly determine the threat was not credible, and that there was no danger to the public, Vazquez said. Burns faces charges related to making criminal threats with the intent to terrorize.
According to Santa Cruz County Superior court records, Burns has a lengthy criminal record, including making terroristic threats, brandishing a weapon and battery, driving while unlicensed, felony vandalism, felony threats to a school, medical facility, daycare center, a workplace, and a house of worship, and damage to a communication device.
