The Capitola Art & Wine Festival returns to Capitola Village this weekend, bringing two days of art, wine, food and entertainment to the seaside community.
Hosted by the Capitola-Soquel Chamber of Commerce, the free annual festival will run from 10am-6pm Saturday and 10am-5pm Sunday.
Thousands of visitors are expected to attend the event, which will feature scores of artists displaying their work along with wine tasting, food and entertainment.
The festival serves as a major fundraiser for the Capitola-Soquel Chamber of Commerce, a nonprofit organization, as well as local schools and community groups that help put on the event.
The tradition dates to 1982, when the late Carrie Jacobson May, Barbara Reding and Eric Johnson created the Capitola Village Art Festival as a way to showcase local talent. The inaugural event featured 50 artists lining the Esplanade.
Festivalgoers who want to sample wine can purchase a 2026 festival glass for $20 and tasting tokens at glass and token booths throughout the festival. Wine tasting is limited to people 21 and older, and identification is required.
Free shuttle service will be available from Capitola Mall on 41st Avenue. Visitors can park in the designated festival parking area and take a shuttle to the festival entrance. The accessible shuttle is scheduled to run approximately every 20 minutes.
Shuttle service will operate from 9:30am-8pm Saturday and 9:30am-7pm Sunday.
