WATSONVILLE — Victoria Felipe died peacefully on Friday, Aug. 25, 2017 surrounded by her family at Valley Convalescent Hospital in Watsonville. She was 95.

She was born in the Philippines but was long-time resident of Watsonville. She worked in a local cannery for 20 years. She enjoyed time with her family and loved to shop. She also enjoyed crocheting while watching WWE professional wrestling.

She is survived by her children, Julie Ballesta, Vicky Chavez, and Santiago Felipe Jr.; siblings, Irenio Mejia, Crispin Mejia and Esminia Salvador; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Santiago Felipe Sr. in 1976.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 30 at Ave Maria Memorial from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. This will be followed by a closing ceremony at Pajaro Valley Memorial Park located at 127 Hecker Pass Road in Watsonville. There will be a celebration of life at the Filipino Community Hall located at 2448 Freedom Blvd. in Watsonville.
