WATSONVILLE — Filiberto Fuentes Lorenzana died on Friday, Oct. 27, 2017 at home surrounded by his family. He was 88. 

Mr. Fuentes was born on Aug. 22, 1929 in San Pedro Tesistan, Jalisco Mexico to Jesus Fuentes Ramirez and Godeleva Lorenzana Sanchez.

He was a hard-working family man with high morals and ethics. He was a man of great faith, who taught his children to live by the same principles that he was taught by his parents. Mr. Fuentes had a green thumb for gardening and could build and fix just about anything. He enjoyed traveling to Mexico to visit family and friends. He spent time with his children and grandchildren teaching them values and discussing trials and tribulations of life but instilling perseverance.

He is survived by eight children, David (Angela) Fuentes, Sergio (Elitania) Fuentes, Arturo (Olivia) Fuentes, Rogelio (Lupe) Fuentes, Filiberto Jr. (Nataly) Fuentes, Jesus (Camerina) Fuentes, Martin (Dina) Fuentes, Rosalva (Daniel) Garcia; brother, Arnulfo Fuentes; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren and numerous nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosalva Navarro; and his siblings, Fidela Fuentes and Elpidio Fuentes.

Visitations will be held on Friday, Nov. 3 from 5-9 p.m. at Holy Eucharist Church located at 527 Corralitos Road in Watsonville. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, Nov. 4 at 10 a.m., also at Holy Eucharist Church.
