Aptos/La Selva firefighters attack a fire that gushed through the upper floor of a La Selva Beach home Monday afternoon. Division Chief Scott Cullen said the fire was largely contained to the second floor and that all the occupants fled the burning home without injury. The blaze broke out around 2:25 p.m. on Sumner Avenue near Via Soderini. Emergency officials shut down Sumner Avenue in the area for several hours. Mop up operations and an investigation continued about four hours.
