Tyler Keenan drove in a trio of runs to lead Monte Vista Christian to a 7-4 Monterey Bay League Gabilan division win over Salinas on Thursday in Salinas.

Ian Koenig had two RBIs and hit a double. Jacob Beardsley was 2-for-3 with a double and a walk.

M.V.C. (4-5, 1-4) hosts Salinas on Monday at 4 p.m.

BOYS’ VOLLEYBALL

• MVC 3, Soledad 0 – Riland Wagner had 15 kill, seven aces and six assists in Monte Vista Christian’s 25-15, 25-9, 25-14 Monterey Bay League Pacific division win over Soledad on Thursday night.

M.V.C. (3-2, 1-1) plays in today’s Watsonville High tournament before returning to league action on Tuesday at Seaside at 6:30 p.m.

• Salinas 3, Pajaro Valley 1 – Pajaro Valley made some adjustments to the rotation but the results were no different in Thursday night’s 16-25, 23-25, 25-21, 16-25 MBL-Gabilan division loss to Salinas.

Geovanny Barajas had 16 kills, nine digs and five assists, and Dennar Ocampo added 24 assists, seven digs and five kills.

Pajaro Valley (6-6, 0-2) plays in today’s Watsonville High tournament before traveling to Christopher on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. to continue its league slate.

• Aptos 3, PCS 2 – Kacey Losik’s 19 kills, 14 assists, 10 digs, three aces and three blocks helped Aptos knock off Pacific Collegiate School, 21-25, 21-25, 25-22, 25-21, 15-13 on Wednesday night.

Michael Spinelli had 32 assists, while Jackson Shirley and Noah Eitzen each added 11 kills. Shirley also had seven blocks for Aptos, which slid into second place in the SCCAL with the win.

BOYS TRACK & FIELD

• Matys lead Aptos – Hunter Matys won the 100- and 200-meter for Aptos in its SCCAL dual meet against Harbor on Thursday evening. He recorded winning times of 12.16 seconds and 25.57, respectively.

Matys also ran a leg for the Mariners’ 4×100 relay team (47.45).

Jorge Benitez won the 800 (2:11.5) and 1,600 (4:47.58), while also helping the 4×400 relay (4:54.02) to a win.

Xarius Joseph won the high jump with a lead of 5 feet, 3 inches and also took first in the 110 hurdles (17.87).

GIRLS TRACK & FIELD

• Land wins two – Sachi Land won the long jump (15-10) and 300 hurdles (53.12) for Aptos in its SCCAL dual meet against Harbor on Thursday. Land also finished second in the 100 hurdles.

Sofia Natividad won the 1,600 (5:52.87) and ran a leg for the winning 4×400 relay (5:05.29).

G LEAGUE BASKETBALL
• Rio Grande Valley 134, Santa Cruz 129 – The Warriors’ playoff hopes took another hit in a loss to the Vipers on Thursday night in Hidalgo, Texas.

Jabari Brown scored 29 points, and Jeremy Pargo added 22 points and 16 assists for the Warriors (22-24), who had seven players score in double-figures.

Santa Cruz closes out its season with a three-game homestand starting on Sunday against the Northern Arizona Suns at 6 p.m.
