Micaela Ponce Gonzalez died in Salinas on Thursday, Dec. 27, 2018. She was 59.
She was born on Sept. 25, 1959 in Teocuitatlan de Corona Jalisco to Elena Gonzalez Hernandez and Feliz Ponce Cobaruvia. Her life was devoted to her family and their happiness. She cherished spending time with her grandchildren and other family members. She was a resident of Castroville.
She is survived by her husband, Luiz Tabarez Baragan; her children, Gregorio Tabarez and Luz Elena Tabarez (Mario Gonzalez); her siblings, Lupe, Mirella, Miguel, Juana, Feliz, Rosela, Francisca and Juan; and her four grandchildren.
A visitation service will be held on Sunday, Jan. 13 at Ave Maria Memorial Chapel, 609 Main St. in Watsonville, from 5-9 p.m. with a recitation of the rosary at 7 p.m. Mass will be celebrated on Monday, Jan. 14 at Our Lady of Assumption Church, 100 Salinas Road in Pajaro, at 11 a.m. with a final blessing to follow at Pajaro Valley Memorial Park, 127 Hecker Pass Road in Watsonville.
