WATSONVILLE — A Sand City family with a successful bounce-house business there has opened a second location in downtown Watsonville.

Jump-N-Around, located at 555 Main St., is in the same location as its predecessor, another bounce-house business, which closed last year.

Owners Frank and Norma Pacheco said they wanted to offer expanded hours than the previous owners did; customers are still surprised the business is open from 10:30 a.m. until 7 p.m. every day of the week, Frank Pacheco said.

The business offers a variety of services, from simple day passes to all-inclusive packages that include bouncing, a buffet and a cake.

But it does not include soda. Instead, Pacheco said he offers juices or water as a way to augment the healthy exercise his customers get by running and bouncing.

Several video games and other coin-operated amusements line one wall of the giant room, which is otherwise dominated by four enormous inflatable structures resembling, among other things, a boat and an obstacle course.

Three private “party rooms” offer places for celebrations.

The Pacheco family, which has run its Sand City business for four years, opened the Watsonville location about three months ago.

Frank Pacheco said that the family-oriented business allows the Pachecos’ children, 15, 9 and 8, to lend a hand and gain a bit of early work experience while their 1-year-old toddler waits his turn to help.

“This is a way for me to have a place that is safe and fun, and at the same time get my kids involved,” he said.

Daniel Pacheco, 8, said he still loves using the bounce structures.

“Every time I come I do a new thing,” he said. “It just gets more fun.”
