Aptos 12U All-Stars continue to stay alive in the Little League NorCal Tournament following an 8-0 victory over host Petaluma National at Luchessi Park on Tuesday evening. 

Starting pitcher Kiran Yager allowed three hits and three walks while tallying five strikeouts in five innings for Aptos, which improved to a 6-0 record when facing elimination.

District 39 and Section 5 champion Aptos will have a rematch with Section 4 champion Maidu on Wednesday at 6:30pm. The winner will play Section 3 champion Alpine on Thursday at 6:30pm. 

Aptos fell into the elimination bracket after a 4-3 loss to Maidu on Sunday. Since then, they’ve rebounded with wins over West Redding and Petaluma National.  

Ryan Santillan, who finished with two hits and one RBI, came in relief for Yager to close out Wednesday’s game. Aptos racked up a total of 12 hits on offense.

Nolan McKee added a two-run double that put Aptos ahead at 3-0 in the bottom of the second, while Yager, who finished with three hits, extended the lead at 4-0 with an RBI single in the third.

Aptos’ Tysen Espinoza had six solid plays on a defense, which played a mistake-free game with no errors.
