Aptos man arrested for sexual acts involving children

Kevin Hurley (Santa Cruz County Sheriff)

An Aptos man was arrested on March 21 for several sex crimes involving minors.

Kevin Hurley, 67, was charged with lewd and lascivious acts with a child and dissuading a victim or witness, among other charges.

He faces a life sentence if convicted.

Hurley was not in custody Thursday afternoon, jail records showed.

Detectives believe there are at least two victims.

Due to Hurley’s previous involvement in a local youth agricultural program, and a church group, detectives are looking for additional victims.

Hurley’s LinkedIn profile says he is director of Spirit West Coast, a Christian music festival.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to call 831.471.1121.
