Boys

Abraham Martinez (Jr.), Watsonville

The Wildcatz’s two-way player was all over the football field in their dominating 36-15 win over cross-town rival Monte Vista Christian in the teams’ Pacific Coast Athletic League Mission Division–North opener Sept. 28. Martinez finished with 75 yards rushing and one touchdown on 13 carries, including two key runs to pick up first downs late in the game. The starting lineman was also a stalwart on defense, recording 1.5 sacks and several tackles for a loss.  

Girls

Georgia Otzman (Jr.), St. Francis

The standout setter finished with a team-best 16 assists to help the Sharks girls’ volleyball team capture a five-set win against Marina High in Pacific Coast Athletic League Cypress Division action Sept. 25. She had another great game with 11 assists and four kills in a sweeping three-set victory over Ceiba College Prep in non-league action Sept. 23. Otzman finished again with a team-best 14 assists in a loss to Pacific Collegiate in league play on Sept. 27.
