Body discovered in Aptos Creek still unidentified

APTOS — The body found in Aptos Creek Monday was there long enough that identifying even the gender is difficult, Santa Cruz County Sheriff spokesman Sgt. Chris Clark said Tuesday.

Identification and cause of death are unknown at this time. An autopsy will take place soon, Clark said

The body was found Monday at about 3 p.m. in Aptos Creek between the Highway 1 and Spreckles Drive bridges.
