The Santa Cruz Police join other emergency officials on West Cliff Drive Friday where passersby spotted a body in the water. SCPD did confirm a call came in at approximately 2:13pm for a body that was found by It’s Beach at Lighthouse Point. The identity of the body is pending verification by the Santa Cruz County Coroner. On Sunday a man was reported missing after he and another man leapt into the ocean at the same spot. While one man ,managed to swim to shore, the other man went missing. Officials at UC Santa Cruz announced that the missing man was a student at the campus. (Contributed)

The Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office has identified the body found on Its Beach May 9, just off the shoulder of Lighthouse Point on the west side of Santa Cruz, as Noah Lee Kim, 21, of Los Angeles.

Kim and another man, both reported to be students from UC Santa Cruz, jumped from a cliff into the sea at 4:45pm on May 4. A massive search was launched and called off as night fell.

On May 9, a passerby spotted a body in the water just off the same cliffs at 2:13pm. 

Rescue swimmers then pulled the body to shore and the Santa Cruz County Coroner later identified him.
