WATSONVILLE — Nearly two months after beginning work on the Casserly Road Bridge, the Santa Cruz County Department of Public Works was putting the final touches on the restoration project and expected it to be open later Tuesday.
Work on the run-down, 19-foot bridge at Casserly and Smith roads began June 22.
The thoroughfare is a key connecting route for South County residents and businesses, with thousands of vehicles using it every day.
The road was closed to all traffic, including pedestrians and bicycles, on June 22.
