St. Francis High will be considered the favorite to win the inaugural Central Coast Section Division III championship when the bracket kicks off on Saturday.

The Sharks (18-7), second-place finishers in the SCCAL, earned the top seed in the division and will play No. 8 Pinewood High (12-3) in the quarterfinals at a time and site still to be determined.

The winner of St. Francis and Pinewood will play the winner of No. 4 Palma High (15-11) and No. 5 Terra Nova High (12-13) on May 22 or 23.

In the D-II bracket, Aptos High was given the No. 11 seed and will travel to Washington Park to play No. 6 Burlingame High in the first round on Wednesday at 4 p.m.

If the Mariners (18-8), second-place finishers in the SCCAL, win their opening matchup, they will play the winner of No. 14 Westmont High and No. 3 Archbishop Mitty in the D-II quarterfinal round on Saturday.
