The Central Coast F.C. 2015 boy’ soccer team out of Watsonville captured the Carabao Division 10U championship earlier this month at the 2024 Manchester City Cup in Southern California.

Central Coast (CalNorth) beat FC Scorpions (CalSouth), 3-2, in the championship game on July 8 at Surf Sports Park in Del Mar. They finished with a 3-0-1 overall record

“It was a great experience for the boys to compete in such a prestigious tournament,” Central Coast coach and team manager Luis Sedano said. “All of the teams participating played really well and our boys responded fantastically to get the results we were looking for. Overall an unforgettable experience and a wonderful opportunity to represent the Central Coast in such a competitive environment. We’ll definitely continue to work hard to have more special moments like this one.”

Members on the team include Gael Villalobos, Isaiah Cabrera-Montes, Adrian Medina, Brandon Nunez, Matthew Fernandez, Angel Medina, Alejandro, Leo Sedano, Adriel Martinez, Noel Rocha, Michael Gatona and Donovan Diaz.

Central Coast began the tournament July 6, starting with a 3-3 draw against Bell Gardens Football Club (CalSouth), followed by a 2-1 victory over FC Scorpions in the teams’ first meeting.

On the following day, Central Coast recorded a 5-2 crushing win against Riverside FC (CalSouth).

“It was an amazing experience for the team to compete in one of the best football brands in the world—Manchester City—and take the cup in their age division,” Central Coast coach Edgar Diaz said. “We are only getting started and can’t wait to keep growing with these boys, and enjoy more of these intense, emotional and great games that lead to these moments.”
