BEN LOMOND — The California Highway Patrol is investigating a collision that left a child dead in Ben Lomond on Sunday.

According to CHP officer Trista Drake, the juvenile — who was listed as a resident of Colombia — was riding a Razor Scooter in a driveway on Newell Creek Road at about 2:38 p.m. when he or she was struck by a 2018 Toyota 4-Runner.

Paramedics pronounced the juvenile dead at the scene. The CHP did not release a gender or an age of the victim.

The driver was a 44-year-old male from Ben Lomond. Drugs or alcohol do not appear to be factors in the collision.
