Cipiana (Carrera) Arellano, also known as Cippie, passed away peacefully in her sleep on June 1, 2017, after a long battle of a heart condition. She was born on September 30, 1955 at Wheeler Hospital in Gilroy, CA and raised in Watsonville all her life.
Cipiana was the youngest child to Ambrosio and Carmen Carrera, who preceded her in death. Cipiana is survived by her true love of 44 years, David V. Arellano Sr.; and her children, David V. Arellano Jr., Amy C. Arellano and Elizabeth (Isaac) Garcia. She is also survived by her brothers and sisters, John Carrera, Jana DuRon, Jennifer Carrera (Jeffrey Bosshard), Jesse (Rose) Carrera, Mary (Tim) Martinez. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren: Ryanne-Nicole C. Arellano, Ishmael I. Garcia, Hannah Arellano, Lluvia-Blondina A. Alvarez, Veronica-Cipiana A. Alvarez and Emily Arellano; and several nieces and nephews, and Rogelio Alvarez (father of Lluvia and Veronica Alvarez). Her sister Frances Rink preceded her in death.
She attended local schools. She started working in the fields with her family at an early age. She also worked at Watsonville Canning, but after the birth of her firstborn child, she started her 30+ years stretch as a Home Daycare Provider. She enjoyed going to the Free Friday Night Concerts at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, watching her granddaughters at their sporting events, and enjoyed spending time with her family. She especially loved taking her grandchildren to Disneyland.
She will be most remembered for her big heart and all the love she gave to each and everyone. She always made everyone feel welcomed, from daycare families, to friends no matter what age they were. Cippie always helped everyone she could without any hesitation.
Cipiana was a loyal and faithful servant of Jehovah. She was a Jehovah’s Witness for over 40 years.
Services will be held at The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses at 480 S. Green Valley Road, Watsonville, CA 95076 at 12:00pm on Saturday, June 10, 2017.
