Holy Eucharist Catholic Community will host a wine tasting and auction Sept. 27 from 3-6pm at 527 Corralitos Road.
The event will feature pours from local wineries along with gourmet appetizers. Tickets are $70 per person, and attendees must be 21 or older.

Knitting Guild to host garment-blocking programs
The Knitting Guild of Santa Cruz will host two programs in September focusing on techniques for blocking finished garments.
The guild will demonstrate wire blocking, pin-and-comb setups using interlocking grid mats, dry blocking and techniques for blocking projects on a budget.
The programs are scheduled for Sept. 8 at 6:30pm and Sept. 17 at 10am at St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church, 2500 Soquel Ave., Santa Cruz.

A show of support on Labor Day
The Monterey Bay Central Labor Council will once again host its annual Labor Day Picnic Sept. 7 at Romo Park on Main Street in downtown Watsonville.
The free gathering will run from 10am to 2pm and feature live music, information tables, food and speeches.
Labor Day is a federal holiday established in 1894 to honor American workers and their contributions to the nation.
