Community in focus: Art frames pop up throughout Watsonville, county

Six decorated wooden frames were installed around Watsonville Saturday in the city’s grand opening of “Outside the Frame,” an effort from the county’s four mayors, County Parks Friends and Santa Cruz County Parks. Watsonville Mayor Jimmy Dutra led a group of three dozen people on a walk through Main Street visiting the six frames at the City Plaza, Memorial Park and Ramsay Park. Artists featured in the Watsonville frames include: Paul De Worken, Priscilla Martinez, Ome Garcia, Jaime Sanchez and Jessica Carrasco. People are encouraged to take a photo with the frame and then post the shot to social media with the hashtag #OutsideTheFrame. For the location of the Watsonville frames, and the other frames in the county’s three other cities, visit countyparkfriends.org.
