Efren “Rey” Cornello Victory died at the Hearts and Hands Care Center in Santa Cruz on Sunday, Sept. 3, 2017. He was 66.

Mr. Victory was born on May 1, 1951 in Binarzang Quirino, Philippines. He immigrated to the United States in May of 1976 to have a better living. He started working as a farm laborer at Carl’s Dobler & Sons at Moss Landing and other areas wherever he was needed. Mr. Victory liked to fish a lot; that’s how he used his time every day since retirement. He was very caring and loving and had many friends and he was known as a gentlemanly person.

Mr. Victory is survived by his parents, Floreso Miriales Victory and Emiliana Cornello Victory; two sisters, Percelita Victory and Marilou Dollemte; five brothers, Albert Victory, Glorito Victory, Rolando Victory, Wilson Victory and Dante Victory; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at Mehl’s Colonial Chapel on Sunday, Sept. 10 from 5-9 p.m. with the rosary recited at 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Patrick’s Church on Monday, Sept. 11 at 10 a.m. and burial will follow at Valley Public Cemetery.
