Eileen Feconda Kogut died in her home on Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2017 surrounded by family and friends.

Born in Canonsburg, Pa., she was the youngest of 10 children and the daughter to Italian immigrants, Giuseppina DiMucci Feconda and Angelo Feconda.

She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother of six, and great-grandmother of eight. She was an avid reader. She was fiercely Italian, from her homemade sauce to her soul. Her faith was the most important thing in her life. A devotee of Saint Pio of Pietrelcina, she was often heard praying the Divine Mercy Chaplet in her sleep.

She is survived her husband of 50 years, Val Andrew Kogut.

The Chaplet and Rosary will be held from 3-5 p.m. at the residence she shared with her daughter and son-in-law, Valjean and Robin Albright, on Nov. 5. The funeral Mass will be celebrated by Fr Paul Mc Donnell on Nov. 6 at 1 p.m. at the Shrine of St. Joseph Guardian of the Redeemer, 544 West Cliff Drive, Santa Cruz. Reception to follow. Mehl’s Colonial Chapel was entrusted with the arrangements.
