Froctuosa R. Reyes died peacefully surrounded by her loving family at a local nursing home on June 22. She was 92.

Mrs. Reyes was born to Marcus Reyes and Daria Asuncion in the Philippine Islands on January 29, 1927. She immigrated to USA and settled in this community with her husband (Celestino Reyes) 40 years ago.

She worked in local canneries for about 14 years. She was a kind and caring person who liked to collect pictures of herself, children, grandchildren, family and friends. She also liked to watch television, but she especially loved to go grocery shopping. Her biggest joy was when the family would gather for a celebration with good food and friends.

Mrs. Reyes is survived by her five sons, Fred (Gloria), Eddie (Esmeralda), Nick (Nancy), Ronald (Elsie) and Filmar (Evelyn) Reyes; five daughters, Sinfroniana (Carlito) Sabangan, Norma (Leon) Ventura, Remedios (Daria) Tolop, Esther (Jimmy) Orot, Bella (Adriano) Nartea; one sister, Saturnina Nuvel; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband Celestino Reyes (2012).

Visitation will be held at Mehl’s Colonial Chapel on Monday, from 5-9 p.m. with a Funeral Service at 7 p.m. Graveside will take place Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Valley Public Cemetery.
