Paving will take place from Granite Creek Rd. to Mt. Hermon Rd.

SANTA CRUZ COUNTY– Highway 17 will have full overnight closures in both directions for paving from Granite Creek Rd. to Mt. Hermon Rd. for two nights starting tonight. The full closure hours will be from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.

A detour will be in place to route motorists from the Granite Creek southbound offramp to Mt. Hermon southbound onramp while paving operations are in effect. Full overnight closures for paving should be complete by 5 a.m. Thursday morning, weather permitting.

Traffic of 10-15 minutes can be anticipated.

The contractor for the $580,000 construction project is American Civil Constructors West Coast LLC from Benicia, CA. Roadwork is expected to be completed in January 2020, weather permitting.

Caltrans reminds motorists to move over and slow down when driving through highway work zones.
