WATSONVILLE — Police were forced to shut down Hangar Way in Watsonville Thursday just after noon after they received a report of two men in a standoff with handguns.

Though initial reports from witnesses claimed there were shots fired, Sgt. Brian Ridgway of Watsonville Police said that no shots were fired and no injuries were reported at Easy Racers on Hangar Way.

Ridgway said an argument opened up between two men about questionable sales of a used van.

The case has since been handed over to the district attorney.

Witnesses said they saw two men arguing loudly, and several dogs barking. One witness then saw one of the men pull out a black revolver.

Hangar Way was shut down for about 90 minutes to allow police from several agencies to clear the business.
