A crew from Pacific Gas & Electric monitor traffic flow along Rodeo Gulch Road in Soquel Saturday where five trees fell across the roadway and power lines during heavy weather. Emergency officials have been responding to numerous reports of trees and limbs crashing into power and communication lines around the Central Coast as an atmospheric river, charged with gusts up to 40mph, continues to blast the region.
In Aptos, Day Valley Road has been closed due to trees falling into power lines. In Felton, Graham Hill Road has been closed at Roaring Camp for toppled lines as well.
PG&E reported that 10,189 people were without power Saturday morning.
