Senior quarterback Sean White threw a pair of touchdowns but those were two of just a few highlights for the Monte Vista Christian Mustangs in a 42-16 loss to red-hot Salinas High on Friday night at “The Pit” in Monterey Bay League Gabilan division action.

White, who now has 17 passing scores on the year, found junior receiver Nick Bautista in the first half and hit junior receiver Daniel Brierley for the second score in the second half.

M.V.C. (4-4, 2-3) hosts Aptos High on Oct. 27 in a much-awaited battle of Santa Cruz County schools.

Here’s a look at how the other local teams did on Friday night:

Gilroy 56, Pajaro Valley 13 — Senior running back Jaylen Carreon scored on the ground and also caught a touchdown pass in the Pajaro Valley High Grizzlies Monterey Bay League Pacific division loss to Gilroy High on Friday night in Gilroy.

Pajaro Valley (1-7, 0-4) junior quarterback Max Arevalo found Carreon for the score late in the first half.

The Grizzlies host Alisal High on Oct. 27 at Emmett M. Geiser Field in Watsonville.

Alisal 48, NMC 6 — The North Monterey County High Condors lost their Monterey Bay League Pacific division game against Alisal High on Friday night in Salinas.

N.M.C. (2-7, 1-4) heads into its bye week before hosting Gilroy High on Nov. 3 in their final game of the season.
