Janet Daley Thompson died Monday, December 17, 2018 in Seattle, WA. She had been taking treatment for lung cancer and died of a sudden heart attack. Her granddaughter Amy Hatten was at her side.

Janet was born to James and Dorothy Daley in Watsonville on January 24, 1936. She attended Mintie White, E.A. Hall, Watsonville High School and Hartnell JC.   Always a Math whiz, she installed the first computer system at Ford’s Dept. Store in Watsonville in the late 1950s. She worked for several computer companies in California, and also Iowa, Oregon, and Washington states. She loved to cook and her family enjoyed lots of very tasty meals. After the death of her daughter Dory in 1993, she raised and cared for her granddaughter Amy.

She is survived by her granddaughter Amy Hatten and husband Jack; great-grandkids Mari and Jack Jr. Hatten of Seattle, WA; granddaughter Madeline Thompson of Portland, OR; her son, Jeffrey Thompson of Corpus Cristi, TX; sisters, Cynthia Wood (Jim) of Wenatchee, WA and Diana (Don) Henrichsen of Watsonville, CA; her nieces and nephews, Libby, Matt and Andy Wood, and Kathleen Bradley, Paul Henrichsen and Jill Lindsay.
