John P. Biskup passed on Sunday, January 6, 2019 at 86 peacefully at home with his loving wife by his side.

John was born in 1932, a native of Watsonville for 70 years, and graduate of WHS. He loved to work the land, whether it was on the Biskup Ranch, Lena’s Apple Orchard or his garden…he took pride in everything he grew. He was a truck driver retiring from Sambrailo Packing and then moved to the Pacific Northwest.

John can be remembered for hosting guests in the kitchen to enjoy a great meal or witness an impromptu concert with him on his base and Judy on her accordion. John had a gruff exterior, but those of us who knew him well knew he had a huge heart. He was a man of principal and respect. He was greatly loved and will be missed.

He is survived by his wife of 30 years Judy Biskup (Gulermovich), stepdaughters, granddaughter, grandson, great-grandchildren and his precious pup Magovich. Local family includes his daughter Marianne Biskup, and niece Lisa and nephew Steve. He was preceded in death by his brothers Ants and Bart, his mother Margaret, father Peter, and his grandparents who came from the old country.

At his request, no service will be held in Watsonville.  A private celebration was held at his home with 40 close friends and family. Ultimately, he will come to rest in his family plot at Valley Catholic Church.

Family requests in lieu of flowers or cards to make donations in John’s name to any Hospice Care Facility for they are an indispensable service to patients and family.
