WATSONVILLE — Juan Antonio Godinez died peacefully on Monday, Oct. 2 2017 at home surrounded by his family. He was 57.

He was born on June 14, 1960 in Leon Guanajuato Mexico to Cipriano Godinez and Juana Lopez. However, he was a resident of Watsonville for over 40 years.

Mr. Godinez was a member of St. Patrick’s Church as well as the choir El Buen Pastor. He enjoyed gardening, and listening to music. He loved to barbecue while spending time with his family and playing with his grandchildren.

Mr. Godinez is survived by his wife, Luz Godinez; his four children, Julie Ponce (Steven), Christina Godinez (Vincent), Juan Godinez Jr., and Brianna Godinez; his mother, Juana; siblings, Marina (Alberto), Camerina, Sara, Locadia, Rosa, Luciano, Serafin, Agustin; and two grandchildren plus numerous nieces and nephews.

The Holy Rosary will be recited at St. Patrick’s Church on Thursday, Oct. 5 at 7 p.m. The Mass will be celebrated at St. Patrick’s Church on Friday, Oct. 6 at 1 p.m. Committal will follow after Mass at Valley Public Cemetery.
