WATSONVILLE — Kenny Sears died early in the morning at home on Sunday, April 23, 2017 with his family by his side. He was 83.

Mr. Sears was born and raised in Watsonville. He graduated from Watsonville High School and Santa Clara University. He was first-round draft pick by the New York Knicks and later the San Francisco Warriors.

Mr. Sears’ first love was his family, and he is survived by his wife of 57 years, Eunice “Yon;” his son, Dante (Sarah Rather); daughter, Debi Barry (Bob); three granddaughters, three great-granddaughters and three great-grandsons.

For 40 years Mr. Sears and his wife traveled to Puerto Vallarta, Mex., where his generosity was legend. He made sure that his family was able to join them for the holidays every year, making happy memories for them all.

Mr. Sears was a man of deep faith, a member of Twin Lakes Church, where he rarely missed attending a Sunday service.
Services will be held at Twin Lakes Church at 2701 Cabrillo College Drive in Aptos at 11 a.m. on May 20.

In memory of Mr. Sears the family suggests donations to Hospice.
