Progressive Rail’s motives questionable

To the Editor,

I’m glad the folks in South Santa Cruz County like Mr. Plomp (Pajaronian, Letters to the Editor, Feb. 3) are looking forward to the return of rail freight service, whenever it occurs. The Regional Transportation Commission is presently negotiating with Progressive Rail as the most likely prospect among proposals considered. Unfortunately, Progressive doesn’t have such a great relationship with some of the communities it’s served. You can search them up online.

Makes you wonder why a company based in Minnesota and the Midwest wants to come all the way out to California to run a two-mile freight line, doesn’t it?
