Little League Roundup, 5/2: WALL White Sox outlast PVLL Braves, 19-13

The Watsonville American Little League White Sox outlasted the Pajaro Valley Little League Braves 19-13 on Thursday in a Majors Interleague matchup in Watsonville.

Justin Pero singled, homered, drove in three runs and also scored three times for the Sox. Eric Hernandez had four RBIs, JoJo Keldsen added two RBIs and Adan Rivas scored three runs.

Christian Magana singled, doubled and had two RBIs for the Braves.

• Athletics 20, Rays 3 – The Athletics routed the Rays 20-3 on Thursday in Pajaro Valley Little League Majors action.

Zac Sandoval and Chase Dicey both hit a single and a triple for the A’s. Joel Mendoza hit a pair of singles and scored four times. Nate Madrigal and Lorenzo Gonzalez each scored three runs. D.J. DeLuna singled and doubled and Diego Reyes doubled.

For the Rays, Brody Legions and Patrick Miller-Brown both hit singled and scored one run.

• Padres 11, Astros 7 – Reece Hamalainen hit a homer and drove in three runs in the Padres’ 11-7 Pajaro Valley Little League Majors win over the Astros on Friday.

Gio Aguirre hit a single and a double for the Padres and Arath Fernandez clubbed a pair of singles.

Adrian Caillas singled, doubled and drove in two runs for the Astros. Max Castro hit two singles.

• Cubs 18, Braves 2 – Miguel Orozco doubled, homered, drove in five runs and scored three times to power the Cubs over the Braves 18-2 on Saturday in Pajaro Valley Little League Majors action.

Adam Martinez hit two singles and drove in a pair of runs for the Cubs. Issac Chavez scored three times. Diego Mitchell and Colin Hirahara doubled.

• Astros 20, Rays 18 – Adrian Casillas belted a triple and a home run, while driving in three runs and scoring three times in the Astros’ 20-18 win over the Rays on Saturday in Pajaro Valley Little League Majors play.

Max Castro had a single, a double, two RBIs and three runs for the Astros. Juan Perez doubled.

Brody Legions (4), Damian Martinez (4) and Jacob Martinez (3) combined to score 11 runs. Brady Cortez doubled.

• Padres 10, Athletics 1 – The Padres cruised to a 10-1 win over the Athletics on Saturday in Pajaro Valley Little League Majors play.

Reece Hamalainen doubled, Tobia Perkowski tripled and Trey Silva singled and tripled for the Padres.

Zac Sandoval singled and tripled for the A’s.

AAA MINORS

• Orioles 10, Red Sox 7 – The Orioles edged the Red Sox 10-7 on Saturday in Pajaro Valley Little League AAA Minors action.

Journey Lorenz scored three runs and Rodriguez Barranco had two RBIs for the O’s.

For the Sox, Marcus Gonzalez tripled and Thomas Westfall doubled.

• Mets 9, Yankees 4 – The Mets beat the Yankees 9-4 on Saturday in Pajaro Valley Little League AAA Minors play.

Ryan Solorio singled and tripled, Mason Borrego hit a pair of singles and Jose Silva scored three runs.

Nathaniel Aguilar scored twice for the Yankees.

• Cardinals 11, Pirates 8 – The Cardinals bested the Pirates 11-8 on Saturday in Pajaro Valley Little League AAA Minors play.

For the Cards, Ben Miller singled and doubled, Brandon Smith, Kyle Barto and Jason Coronado all hit a pair of singles and Zachary Gong doubled and had two RBIs. Samuel Martinez singled and doubled.

Karissa Navarrette hit two singles for the Pirates.
