Watsonville American picked up its second pool play win of the District 39 Little League Majors All-Star tournament on Tuesday night in Santa Cruz, beating Aptos 8-5.

Watsonville American, competing in pool A, started off the tournament with an 11-6 loss to Santa Cruz National on Saturday but bounced back with a 6-2 win over Pajaro Valley on Sunday.

Watsonville American closes out pool play today at 6:30 p.m. against San Lorenzo Valley.

Aptos, meanwhile, beat Pajaro Valley 16-4 on Monday for its second win of pool play. Aptos, which also beat San Lorenzo Valley 11-2 on Saturday, finishes up pool play against Santa Cruz National on Friday at 7:30 p.m.

Pajaro Valley played against Santa Cruz National on Wednesday — the results were not available before print — and wraps up pool play on Saturday against San Lorenzo Valley at 4 p.m.

The top two teams will move on to the final four.

• Watsonville American drops pair – Watsonville American suffered a pair of back-to-back losses in pool play of the District 39 Little League 11s All-Star tournament in Scotts Valley.

Watsonville American lost 14-3 on Monday to Santa Cruz National and 21-5 to Santa Cruz American on Tuesday.

Watsonville American plays its final game of pool A play on Friday at 5:30 p.m. against Capitola-Soquel.

Pajaro Valley has a pair of games left in pool play. It will play Santa Cruz American today at 5:30 p.m. and then faces Santa Cruz National on Saturday at 10 a.m.

In pool B, Aptos met Live Oak on Wednesday — the results of that game were not available before print — and finishes up pool play on Friday against Scotts Valley at 5:30 p.m.

• Watsonville American still undefeated – Watsonville American continued its undefeated run through the District 39 Little League 10s All-Star tournament in Watsonville, beating Capitola-Soquel, 6-2, on Monday and besting Live Oak, 10-2, on Tuesday.

Watsonville American will play its final game of pool A play on Friday at 5:30 p.m. against San Lorenzo Valley.

In pool B, Aptos picked up its second win of the tournament on Tuesday with a 21-10 rout of Pajaro Valley.

Aptos concludes pool play on Saturday at 1 p.m. against Santa Cruz American.

Pajaro Valley plays Scotts Valley on Friday at 6 p.m. in its pool play finale.
