Lloyd Oliver, of Watsonville, CA, passed away, Thursday, May 11, 2017, at Dominican Hospital in Santa Cruz.
Lloyd was born in Watsonville on November 4, 1948 to Lloyd Frederick Sr and Francis Louise Rollins. He was an avid golfer and sports fanatic. He was one of the most devoted and loyal fans of the San Francisco Giants and San Francisco 49ers. Lloyd was a son, a father, a grandfather, a brother, a brother-in-law, and uncle and a best friend to many. To us, his surviving children, he was a hero. In his presence, he had the ability to lift you up from the falls of darkness, or heighten your sentiment in the time of pure joy. A person that allowed everyone that crossed his path to feel perfectly ok with being exactly who they were.
Lloyd is survived by his three children, Amy Proost, Abby Oliver and Brian Oliver; three grandchildren, Bailey Proost, Harlyn Cavanaugh and Ashley Oliver; his two son-in-laws, Andon Proost and Brady Cavanaugh; his daughter-in-law, Shelia Oliver; and his sister and brother-in-law, Fran and Jim Bruce.
A celebration of life service will be held at 3:00 pm, Friday, May 19 at Mehl’s Colonial Chapel, 222 E Lake Ave, Watsonville, CA 95076. For those that wish, flowers can be sent directly to Mehl’s.
