Savanah Quintana posted a triple-double in Watsonville High’s 57-51 season-opening non-league win over San Lorenzo Valley High on Thursday night.

Quintana, a senior point guard, had 29 points, 10 rebounds and 10 steals for the Wildcatz, who are off until the start of their tournament on Dec. 7.

Senior wing Evelyn Rios and senior center Julisa Vega chipped in with 10 points apiece.

• Pajaro Valley 64, Santa Catalina 25 – The Pajaro Valley High Grizzlies improved to 2-1 on the season with a non-league win over Santa Catalina School on Wednesday night.

P.V. is off until Dec. 12 when it will travel to Pebble Beach to play Stevenson.

BOYS’ BASKETBALL

• Scotts Valley 59, Pajaro Valley 58 – Tony Reyes had 22 points and Christian Quintero added 20 in Pajaro Valley High’s 59-58 loss to Scotts Valley High in the opening round of the Jose Solis/Vantory Miles Invitational on Thursday night in Salinas.

Ryan Magbag added eight points.

• MVC 0, PCS 0 – Valentina Vanos made three saves to power the Monte Vista Christian Mustangs to a scoreless tie with Pacific Collegiate School on Thursday night.

M.V.C. (0-1-1) plays Soledad in the Watsonville High Tournament today at 1 p.m.

• Pajaro Valley 10, Gonzales 0 – The Pajaro Valley High Grizzlies started their season with a dominant shutout victory over Gonzales High on Wednesday night in Watsonville.

Freshman Jasmin Castillo scored five goals, senior Emma Arroyo added four and senior Natalia Gallegos also scored.

P.V. (1-0) continues its season today in the Watsonville High Tournament. The Grizzlies play King City High at 3 p.m.
