Forrest Hays had a game-high 16 points, Rashuan Wooden added nine and the Aptos High Mariners beat St. Francis High, 44-34, for the Bob Hagen Tournament title on Saturday afternoon in Gilroy.

Jason Gallo added 13 points and E.J. Kelly chipped in nine for St. Francis (3-1), which hosts King City High tonight at 7 p.m.

Aptos improved to 3-0 with the victory and welcomes in Salinas High tonight at 7 p.m.

• MVC 74, Marina 33 – The Monte Vista Christian Mustangs made quick work of the Marina Mariners on Friday night in a non-league contest.

Lucas Schmidt had 12 points, nine rebounds and three blocks. Miles Greene added 12 points and five rebounds. Daniel Glenn chimed in with 13 points.

The Mustangs (4-0) travel to Pebble Beach tonight to play Stevenson at 7 p.m.

BOYS’ SOCCER

• Watsonville 5, Carlmont 0 – Erik Herera and Jeal Leal scored two goals apiece and the Watsonville High Wildcatz blanked Carlmont on Friday night in a preseason contest.

Angel Luis Hernandez dished four assists for Watsonville (4-0), which starts the Lotto Sport Western Showcase at San Clemente High on Thursday.

Their first match is against Servite at 3:15 p.m. The tournament championship is set for Saturday at 5 p.m.

GIRLS’ SOCCER

• St. Francis 9, Marina 0 –  Riley Croghan had a hat-trick, Savannah Guel scored a pair of goals and St. Francis cruised to yet another preseason win on Monday evening against Marina High on the road.

Clare Tershy, Reese McLeod, Katie Farley and Taylor Guel also scored for the Sharks (4-0).

St. Francis hosts Trinity Christian today at 3:30 p.m.

• St. Francis 7, Cristo Rey 0 – Clare Tershy, Riley Croghan and Savannah Guel all scored twice to lead St. Francis over Cristo Rey in Saturday’s preseason game at Avaya Stadium in San Jose.

GIRLS’ BASKETBALL

• St. Francis 54, Watsonville 53 – Chloe Deleisseguess had 14 points, Janessa Yniguez added 12 and the St. Francis High Sharks edged the Watsonville High Wildcatz for third place in the Watsonville High tournament on Saturday.

Evelyn Rios had 26 points, five rebounds, five assists and five steals for Watsonville, while Ruby Galvan contributed 12 points and Julisa Vega finished with five points and 14 rebounds.

St. Francis (2-1) plays at University Prep today at 4 p.m.

Watsonville hosts Marina High on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.

• Tamalpais 51, M.V.C. 29 – Mackenzie Tellez finished with 16 points, three rebounds and five steals in Monte Vista Christian’s tournament loss to Tamalpais on Saturday.

Aleah Refat added seven points and 11 rebounds for M.V.C. (2-3), which welcomes in San Mateo High on Thursday at 6:30 p.m.

• Presentation 61, Aptos 38 – Hannah Hocom had 18 points in Aptos High’s first setback of the season against the defending Central Coast Section Division II champion Presentation.

Natalia Ackerman finished with seven points, 10 rebounds, three assists, two steals and a block for Aptos (3-1), the defending CCS Division III champ.

The Mariners will try to rebound on Thursday in the North Salinas High tournament. Aptos plays King City High in the first round at 5 p.m.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL

• Cabrillo 70, Napa Valley 28 – Cabrillo College rolled to its third straight preseason win on Saturday night behind Grace Giguiere’s 20 points and 11 rebounds.

Lauren Lacy finished with 11 points, eight assists and three steals for Cabrillo (5-1), which plays in Thursday’s Monterey Peninsula College tournament.

Their first game is against American River College at 1 p.m.

• Hoop Shoot – Saturday’s Elks Lodge Hoops Shoot at Lakeview Middle School in Watsonville crowned five champions.

Here are the champions that will advance to the District Hoop Shoot on Jan. 13 in Santa Clara:

Age 12-13 boys: Karlus Corpus.

Age 10-11 girls: Sophia Bermio.

Age 10-11 boys: Anthony Torid.

Age 8-9 girls: Audriana Cabanlit.

Age 8-9 boys: David Cabanlit.
