The Cabrillo College women’s basketball team routed Ohlone College, 73-26, in their home opener on Tuesday night in non-conference action.

Grace Giguiere poured in a team-high 13 points for Cabrillo (3-1), which had all 11 players score. Lauren Lacy, Britni Fernandez and Sarah Bargetto all added nine points.

The Seahawks host Reedley College today at 4 p.m.

GIRLS’ BASKETBALL

• Aptos 77, Gunderson 44 – Natalia Ackerman had 30 points, 13 rebounds and five steal, Hannah Hocom added 15 points, four assists and three steals and Aptos High rolled to another preseason victory at home on Tuesday.

The Mariners (3-0) travel to San Jose on Friday to play Presentation, the defending Central Coast Section Division II champ, at 7 p.m.

GIRLS’ SOCCER

• Mountain View 4, Aptos 1 – Maya Pruett scored for Aptos High in Tuesday night’s non-league loss to powerhouse Mountain View High at home.

The game was tied at 1-1 at the half before the Spartans broke it open in the second half with three goals.

Aptos (1-1-1) travels to Monterey today to play Santa Catalina at 3:30 p.m.

• Pajaro Valley 10, Stevenson 0 – Jasmin Castillo scored five goals, Emma Arroyo added four and the Pajaro Valley High Grizzlies cruised to another win in the Watsonville High Tournament on Monday night.

Natalie Gallegos also scored for P.V. (2-0), which plays Pacific Collegiate School on Saturday at 1 p.m. back at Watsonville High.

YOUTH BASKETBALL

• Hoops Shoot return – The annual Watsonville Elks Hoop Shoot is set for Dec. 9 at Lakeview Middle School.

The free throw competition for kids ages 8-13 will begin at 11 a.m.
