The Pajaro Valley boys’ volleyball team lost their Monterey Bay League Gabilan division opener against Palma on Tuesday night in Watsonville.
Dennar Ocampo had 29 assists and 11 digs, Geovanny Barajas finished with 19 kills and two aces and Fernando Viveros made 15 digs.
Pajaro Valley (6-5, 0-1) welcomes in Salinas today at 6:30 p.m.
• San Benito 3, MVC 1- Monte Vista Christian fell 25-15, 25-18, 25-27, 25-13 to San Benito in its MBL-Pacific division opener on the road on Tuesday night.
Riland Wagner had 10 kills, four aces and four assists, while J.P. Thrasher added three aces, six kills and 11 assists.
M.V.C. (2-2, 0-1) hosts Soledad today at 6:30 p.m.
• Aptos 3, Scotts Valley 0 – The Aptos Mariners swept Scotts Valley, 25-9, 25-21, 25-20, in Santa Cruz Cost Athletic League play on Tuesday night.
Jackson Shirley had 10 kills and three blocks, Josh Powell added seven kills and Michael Spinelli made 18 assists.

• San Benito 7, MVC 1 – Clay Allard had two hits in Monte Vista Christian’s MBL-Gabilan division loss to San Benito on Tuesday in Watsonville.
Ian Koenig scored the team’s lone run for M.V.C. (3-5, 0-4), which hosts Salinas today at 4 p.m.
• NMC 10, Pajaro Valley 0 – Jordan Larva tossed a two-hit shutout on Monday to lead North Monterey County over Pajaro Valley in MBL-Pacific division action.
Larva had six strike outs.
George Madrigal was 2-for-2 with two triple and three RBIs.
