Jessica Rodriguez tossed a five-inning no-hitter to lead the Watsonville High girls’ softball team to a 12-0 preseason win over Monte Vista Christian on Monday.

Julian Wilson was 2-for-4 with a double, four RBIs and two scored runs, and Savanah Quintana finished 4-for-4 with a double, two RBIs and two scored runs for Watsonville (2-0).

The Wildcatz welcome in Aptos High on Friday at 3:30 p.m.

JC BASEBALL

• Skyline 5, Cabrillo 4 – Cabrillo College dropped its Coast Conference Pacific division opener on Tuesday afternoon on the road.

Ivan Perez was 2-for-2 with two RBIs, Jake Keaschall doubled and Jonah Shabry belted a triple for Cabrillo (5-14, 0-1).

The Seahawks will host Skyline today at 2 p.m.

JC SOFTBALL

• Cabrillo 7, Hartnell 5 –  Micaela Decker was 3-for-3 with two RBIs and two doubles in Cabrillo College’s 7-5 Coast Conference South division win on Tuesday.

Brianna Lamb and Madison Gil each drove in a pair of runs for Cabrillo (5-10, 1-1).

Miranda Janisch picked up the win in the circle.

The Seahawks host Gavilan College today at 3 p.m.

BOYS VOLLEYBALL

• Pajaro Valley 3, Santa Clara 1 – Dennar Ocampo had 33 assists, five digs and five aces in Pajaro Valley High’s 17-25, 27-25, 25-21, 25-22 win over Santa Clara High on Monday night.

Geovanny Barajas finished with 22 kills and four aces, and Esteban Fernandez added nine kills and three blocks for Pajaro Valley (4-0), which plays at San Benito High today at 6:30 p.m.

• MVC 3, Scotts Valley 1 – Monte Vista Christian improved to 2-1 in the preseason with a 23-25, 25-23, 25-11, 25-14 win over Scotts Valley High on Tuesday.

M.V.C. returns to action on Tuesday at San Benito High.

• Carmel 7, MVC 0 – The Monte Vista Christian Mustangs dropped their season opener against Carmel High on Tuesday.

BOYS GOLF

• Aptos 199, Soquel 290 – Aptos High won its third Santa Cruz Coast Athletic League match on Tuesday.

Cole DeFrancesco fired an even-par 35, and Jacob Holmes finished one-over par. Adam MacDonald (40), Nick Gavassee (44) and Noah Clarke (44) also scored for Aptos.
