The Cabrillo College softball team dropped a 5-4 heartbreaker against Foothill College on Tuesday in Coast Conference South division action on the road.
Kasey Sugimoto was 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs in the loss, while Micaela Decker went 3-for-4 with two RBIs and a scored run.
Maddy Johnson singled and scored twice. Brianna Lamb doubled.
Cabrillo (9-20, 2-6) hosts De Anza today at 3 p.m.

• Marina 3, St. Francis 1 -St. Francis High lost a non-league game on Tuesday, falling 3-1 to Marina High at home.
Lena Ciandro had two of the Sharks’ five hits and scored their lone run.
St. Francis returns to Santa Cruz Coast Athletic League action on Tuesday at Santa Cruz at 4 p.m.

HS BASEBALL
• Sacred Heart Prep 3, MVC 0 – Monte Vista Christian was shutout for the second straight non-league game on Wednesday afternoon at Bellarmine.
Ian Koenig tossed five innings and struck out four in the loss. Garret Laine was 1-for-3.
M.V.C. (7-9) also lost 11-0 to Archbishop Mitty on Tuesday. Jacob Beardsley and Laine both went 2-for-3 in the loss.
The Mustangs hosts Palma High on Tuesday at 4 p.m. in a return to Monterey Bay League Gabilan division action.
• St. Francis 5, Pacific Grove 4 (9 innings) – St. Francis stunned Pacific Grove High by scoring four runs over the sixth and seventh innings to force extras, and completed the comeback in the ninth on Tuesday in non-league action.
Chase Watkins hit a pair of doubles, scored two runs and earned a walk. Derric Estrada-Haro doubled, knocked in a run and scored once.
Felipe Padia-Noriega earned the win after tossing a one-hitter over four innings with five strikeouts.
St. Francis hosts Gilroy High today at 4 p.m.
