Watsonville Police spokeswoman MIchelle Pulido said detectives served multiple search warrants linked to this case and arrested the suspect, Antwan Magaña.

On Feb. 10, WPD Officers responded to reports of a shooting on the 100 block of Riverside Drive in downtown Watsonville shortly before 5pm. At the scene, they found a victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. He was taken to an unnamed hospital and is expected to survive.

Magaña, a known and active gang member, was taken to the Santa Cruz County Jail on charges of attempted murder and gang enhancements. He was being held Saturday in lieu of $500,000 bail, jail records showed.
