WATSONVILLE — A man is listed in stable condition after being shot Saturday night.

According to Watsonville Police, around 9:36 p.m. officers were dispatched to the area of Packard Lane and Shawki Court for multiple reports of shots fired. Officers on scene found a parked vehicle with the engine running.  The vehicle was unoccupied and had multiple gunshot holes.

Arriving officers learned there was a victim of a shooting and he had been transported to the Watsonville Community Hospital by a good Samaritan.  A dark colored sedan was last seen leaving the area at a high rate of speed immediately after the shots were fired, police said.

Officers responded to the hospital and located the 24-year-old victim in the emergency room, who had been shot in his upper back. Officers attempted to gather suspect information from the victim but he was uncooperative with the investigation, police said. The victim was later flown to a trauma center.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the WPD Investigation Division at 768-3350 or the Crime Tip Line at 768-3544.
